Is attitude an important key in the development of behavior and personality? In this article I have discussed how positive attitude could improve behavior and personality. Read on to discover how positive attitude is very important as it will make our life easier.

Problems of Negative Attitude

I have come across an individual never likes criticisms about himself. He becomes upset if anyone tells that he”s wrong. He looks very bored if he is not agreeing with any one of his team mates. He disagrees with most of the suggestions since it is not liked by him. On the other side he is sincere, hardworking, and a good performer too.

Obviously such people could not tolerate the grace, success or progress of others. They get resentful and bitter when find that others are happy. Normally people facing such adversities tend to blame others or even to their own fate for their failures. Their surrounding factors can bring only the resentment and ultimately frustration for them.

People, with attitude problems, show bad relationship, poor self image, and many other factors. All these negative factors can change your overall attitude towards life which may directly impede your overall performance.

Attitude is Funny and Infectious

Attitude is a funny thing. Your attitude is the first thing people pick up on in face-to-face communication. For example Your body language is a result of your mental attitude. By choosing your attitude you get in that mood and communicate to everyone to understand, consciously or unconsciously. Attitudes drive behavior.

Attitude is infectious. Even without uttering a word, your attitudes can infect the people. Mere looking or feeling, you can be infected by another person”s attitude, and vice versa. It plays a significant role in our daily successes and/or failures.

Evils of Negative Attitude

A sustained negative attitudes (i.e., frustration, uncontrolled anger, bitterness, excessive shame, guilt, arrogance, envy, jealousy, greed, fear, suspicious nature, inferiority complex, persistent agony or melancholy, mental instability, escapism or shilly-shallying tendencies, communication apprehension, poor will power, low grasping, absentmindedness, sloth, laziness, dawdling, dodging etc. ) will bring frustration and stress. Negative people will search out others and attempt to bring them down to their level. This is how negative attitudes spread.

We may blame others, circumstances or events for our situation. Where does attitude come from? From Work or people or from boss? No! Attitude comes from within individual.

Two Categories of People

From my experience I can categorize two kinds of people — those who take responsibility for their lives and those who blame others. There are people who always take responsibility and see the world is full of opportunities. On the other hand there are good majority of people finding only threats.

Importance of Positive Attitude

Let us determine our attitude. We have challenges in our business or in our career. We can choose to respond in a positive way to thesechallenges. People like to be around positive people. Having a positiveattitude will improve your relationships, make you happier and lead to success.

Almost always, you have a choice as to what attitude to adopt Learn and practice a positive mental attitude, and enjoy the rewards. Baba Amte had this say 'the future belongs to the common man with uncommon determination'.

Attitude decides one's altitude, not the aptitude!

I have to admit, I almost fell to someone elses level just a few weeks back. I decided instead of defending myself, the best thing would just to cast her away. I have to say it feels better to have done it my way. Let her wallow in her own misery. I have a life to live. A good positive and well written article.
