Finding a job is never easy, but these tips may give you some fresh ideas.

Part 1

Finding a suitable job these days can be very hard and some people may not know where to begin, but my following these steps finding a job won’t seem so scary. Believe it or not finding a job isn’t the most difficult part, its getting a job and keeping it which is the challenge.

Step One - Look around and don’t limit your search. Look in places like your local new paper and job centre office. Ask around and make cold calls if you have to, if you don’t ask you don’t get. Last but not least search the internet, thousands of new jobs are posted online everyday.

Step Two - Think about what is it you would enjoy and what skills and qualifications you have, don’t aim too high otherwise you will just be wasting your own time. Also never lie on your CV to try and impress a potential employer you will be caught.

Step Three - Get yourself out there, upload your CV to job sites that will search for jobs for you. When a relative job comes up they will email you with the details. Places ads online and your local news paper that you are looking for work and include some of your important skills. You never know your job may find you instead.

Part 2

Unemployment is at an all time high in many places right now, its a struggle to find a suitable job and there just isn’t enough work to go around and with 10+ people going for the same job how are you going to make sure that you stand out from the crowd?

First of as well as making sure your CV is completely bullet proof of errors have something on there that will make you stand out. It isn’t all about your previous work experience and your qualifications, its also about you as a person.

Many people often overlook this point, don’t forget to include a covering letter with every job that you apply for. By writing a covering letter you can show your potential employer and you understand what the job will require and that you have the skills to do it well.

Don’t go into your interview unprepared you only have one chance to make them think that you are the right person for the job. If you are looking for a position in a company make sure you research that company and you know exactly what it is about. Think of some questions you may be asked and practice what you will say. Pair up with a friend and do a little role play.

Finally when you do get that interview be polite and keep eye contact, answers questions with confidence and ease. You do this and you might just land yourself a job.
