The certified dental assistant exam is completed nearly in four hours long time, where overall a candidate has to answer 320 questions, student is given points, marks it is scaling from 100 to 900, for passing the test a candidate needs to get 400 or its above points. In this whole test process, there are three subsections, for general chair side the candidate has to answer 120 questions, for radiation health and safety one needs to answer 100 questions and on the field of infection controlling , test for 100 questions are given for test.

When a dental assistant goes through the proper way and completes his training, only then he gets entitled for the CDA exam, the training program is organized by the commission on dental accreditation, but if any candidate who completes training on doing job, or having graduation from non-accredited program are entitled also for taking the national certification examination, for that they need to complete two years full time working experience. As per the variable criteria in the other sates, for dental assistants, exist but the common test comprises of health and safety, radiation, and infection control system.
