Which do you prefer, an officebased or a homebased job?

Career Searching

March is about to end and April is fast approaching. I hear some Graduation Songs from here and there. In the Philippines, March and April are months to celebrate the success and triumphs of students as they march on stage and take their medals and certificates. First and foremost, let me greet all the Graduates of 2015 a BIG CONGRATULATIONS and welcome to the REAL WORLD.

It is still fresh in my mind the day after I graduated last 2008. I still had a class after, but not in the University but in a Review Center. I took Engineering course way back then and it has a Licensure Exam. I had to attend the review class for 4 months before I had to take the Licensure Examination for Engineers. Luckily, I passed.

So, what's next for me? I asked myself. I applied in different companies. I traveled a lot from one city to another. I passed my resume online. I have waited for a month before a Telecommunications Company called me and hired me. Yes, that was my first job. It was quite far from my house, I need an hour to travel. My job starts at 8 am and some times (well, a lot of times, I do field works) so I had to stay 12mn at least. Imagine the scenario, I usually arrived in my house at 1 or 2 am and I have to wake up at 6 am. I only slept for 4 hours and I have to beat the traffic everyday. So, I decided to look for an online job. That was my biggest turning point in my career. I had a good company already, but I took a risk.

I found an online job as an Academic Associate for a Korean company. I had to make lectures for Korean students studying the English language online. I also had to prepare some lessons for Koreans who were studying in the Philippine universities. Apart from that, I also had another job as a Research Analyst. That was night shift. I worked there part time.

There were pro's and con's working in the office and working at home, but if you will ask me, I prefer working more at home than in the office. First, no traffics, no uniforms to wear, I can wear anything I want, I can eat while working, I stay at home with my family and I must say, the salary was absolutely insane (in a good way). The only risk in finding a home based job is that once you applied online, you have to make sure they are not a scam. A lot of people are becoming a victim of scam online. they were asked to work like a dog and then when payment time comes, suddenly they would disappear. So, be aware of those scams and ask questions just to be sure.

I hope everyone is having a good time in their career and be passionate on it. Once you learned to love your job, it won't be a job anymore, it will be like a hobby already.
