Personal appearance matter and affects how we are perceived by other people. People immediately form perceptions about who we are, what we are like and if we are worth their valuable time. Whether you are applying for a job, selling to a customer or asking for a promotion, your personal appearance will play a role to its success and failure.

Dress for success

1. Wear clothes appropriate for the work you want to have.

2. Do not be too futuristic in your clothing or you’ll be giving an impression that you don’t belong to the group.

3. Choose accessories that are simple and not too attractive.

4. Use fabrics that are strong and nice to look at.

Study other people's appearance

5. Make it habit to look at yourself in the mirror.

6. Use colors, fabrics and shoes that complements each other.

7. Study what the others are wearing.

8. Always wear clean clothes and shoes. How you care for your clothes and shoes can give good or bad impressions of you.

9. Get a good book to guide you on how to dress and choose the best style.

10. Always look clean and smell clean.

11. Always listen to what other people are saying about how you look.

12. If your boss, customer, or a friend will be with you for an appointment, make sure everything in your surroundings look clean and smells clean.
